What if our world’s definition of success is antithetical to the Christian faith?
What if our accumulation of bigger houses and fancier cars isn’t a sign of God’s favor but a result of man’s greed?
What if businesses exist to exploit our self-centeredness and have no concern for the flourishing of humanity?
What if the clothes we wear and the company we keep reinforce the notion that wealthy people matter more than the less fortunate?
What if our attempt to justify our lavish lifestyle is an affront to the Creator and an insult to the poor?
What if we’re forfeiting eternal treasures by insuring possessions on earth?
What if our financial investments are enslaving our minds instead of securing our future?
What if the narrative of upward mobility is a lie and opposed to the heart of God?
What if we stopped comparing ourselves to those in our socioeconomic bracket and started associating with those of lesser status?
What if the first question God asks us in heaven is about how we treated the least of these?
What if?
