In December, I published a list of my 10 favorite books of 2023. While putting it together, I was reading two other books that should have made the list. I want to share them now.
This book chronicles Tim Challies’ difficult journey after losing his only son. His honesty is refreshing. His dexterity with the Scriptures is encouraging. This is the book I’d give anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one.
2. Educated
This is a memoir written by a lady who grew up in a Mormon, survivalist family. Tara was taught that public education, the medical profession, and the government are evil tools of the devil. She didn’t step foot into a classroom until she was seventeen years old. Her story is both inspiring and frightening. I couldn’t put it down.
These books should make it on your reading list this year.
